Saying this, here is a problem, I research only few branches, not even unlocking whole the potential of race, and not even mentioning non-military researches. It can take long time as computer doesn’t surrender as in AoW3, and I need chase that commander after razing HQ.
I haven’t finished many games, most of the time I played for Assembler Heritor commander, against normal opponent with small map and no colonizators (No, that’s just way too much of macro management for me to handle, especially fighting against army of enemy colonies later on), I played with starter army (gathering neutrals for the future and just clearing some minor spots with this side-army) untill I research walker cannon, than sit heroes on those, buying some more of those cannons, getting some t3 brutes (self-reanimating dudes) and go killing enemy. It’s a good thing, but I just getting lost. Much complicated and deeper, same goes to overall global economy management. And combat in planetfall feels really MUCH better than in AoW3, especially hero customization possibilities. But planetfall completely covers up this minor issue by bringing sentient insects, lizards, borgs and necrons on the table. Uninspiring to say at best, for guy with my tastes.
Honestly to say the only thing I dislike in AoW3 is visual style. Turn-based is my most favorite genre and I love how Age of Wonders is going. I’ve played Age of Wonders 3 before, and I really enjoyed the game so far.
